What We’re Working On

2023 was a busy year full of growth and experimental projects that set the stage for 2024. We traveled around the world and across the country on a handful of commissions, all focused on new approaches to story sovereignty and how we can address issues of authorship, agency, and representation by also working collaboratively with our partners in front of the camera:

  • EARLY 2023: Working with USAID and local partners in Peru, the Philippines, and Madagascar using our STORY COLLABORATIVE approach along with traditional photojournalism and filmmaking to explore dynamics between big Western conservation projects and local communities.

  • MID 2023: Working with World Wildlife Fund to run our STORY COLLABORATIVE workshops (videos of behind the scenes in Namibia and for USAID) in the context of mangrove ecosystems in Mexico, and cultural identity and wildlife conservation in Namibia.

  • 2023-2024: Working with Community Solutions on a series of 12 short films in partnership with the people working to prove that homelessness is solvable in cities across the United States.

On the independent front, after nearly four years in production, we’re finally closing in on a fine cut for MY NAME IS NOT AMY, the first film in our ongoing independent serial project. We’re also collaborating with our close friend and local herbalist, shaman, and artifact medium, Monticue Connally on the experimental short film URBAN SHAMAN; as well as the Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers on their cross-cultural healing work throughout the region.
